Scania's ambition is to lead the shift towards sustainable transport solutions. Scania Luleå is an important part of this journey and is involved in developing the products and manufacturing methods of the future. We create solutions that are viable today while developing tomorrow's electrified and connected transport solutions. Well-being, pride, engagement, and responsibility are words that describe what it's like to work with us.
Now you have the opportunity to work as a summer intern with us and gain insight into what it's like to work in our production. Scania Luleå is the center for Scania's manufacturing of rear axles and chassis components.
What does summer work with us entail?
As a summer intern with us, you will work as an operator in our modern production flows. In the rear axle bridge department, you will either work with machining or welding of bridges.
In the Chassis and side beam department, you will work with surface treatment of chassis components or side beams. In our welding processes, we use several different welding techniques, but most of the welding is performed in robotic cells. As a summer intern, you and your team are responsible for ensuring that our production flows run efficiently and with high quality. You enjoy working according to given instructions, standardized work methods, and have a strong safety mindset.
The employment is temporary and applies during the period of June to August as agreed. The production is closed for vacation for 4 weeks (29-32), and during this time, you as a summer intern will be off without pay. All our positions involve shift work, which includes night work. Scania will provide you with information and training for your work.
If you are a student interested in writing your thesis with us, regardless of direction, we see it as an advantage if you have worked or summer interned with us and are familiar with the production and organization.
We are looking for
At Scania, the team is our greatest driving force, and therefore we are looking for someone who is a team player, communicative, and meticulous in their work. You have an interest in production operations and want to contribute to a good culture and work environment in the shift team. We also see that you take great responsibility, are engaged in your tasks, and are driven to create results – both for yourself and for the team.
The most important thing for us is your attitude and drive - we will teach you the rest!
Basic requirements are that you have passing grades in math, Swedish, and English at the high school level and master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. For employment in production, you must be at least 18 years old. Before you start your summer job, a one-day introduction is required, which will be scheduled before your summer job starts. That day is mandatory.
It is advantageous if you have:
- previous experience in production or industrial work
- welding skills and/or machining
- forklift (B1-B3) and/or overhead crane certification
Education in a relevant field, such as industrial technology programs, engineering programs, or equivalent vocational training is desirable.
